A First Look #CorbinsBend #SeasonFour M/m #Wipitupwednesday

This is my very first blog post, my very first M/m book, and my very first WipitUp Wednesday! I'm so excited that I finally remembered to sign up in time! I write M/m romance, and for my very first project, I teamed up with my good friend, Thianna D Durston! Our book is coming out in November as part of Corbin's Bend Season Four, and I am so excited to get to share a snippet with you today!

Thianna also shared a snippet for this hop, and you can find it here.
Her snippet gives you a look at Phillip's first look at Daniel, who is unconscious at the time, after crashing his delivery truck. I figured for the sake of continuity, I would skip ahead only slightly and give you a glimpse of Danny's first look at Phillip.

He heard a soft gasp from the other side of the room, and footsteps that seemed to be heading towards him. He wasn’t alone after all. The footsteps were flat and thuddy, unlike the melodic click he had heard earlier from what he could only assume were Laney’s favorite high heels. That told him that the fast approaching footsteps belonged to the smooth-tongued stranger he had been listening to earlier. Danny had to know who it was. He willed his eyes to open once more, and this time they co-operated.

“Hello, Danny.” The stranger leaned over him, only a few feet from his face. The first thing Danny noticed was his smile. It was dazzling, and his first thought was that it belonged on a toothpaste commercial. The rest of him wasn’t too shabby either, but it all paled in comparison when he flashed those dazzling pearly whites. He nodded, the slightest moment sent waves of pain rushing to his head. The stranger seemed to know this. “Don’t move. Don’t say anything. I’ve already called for the doctor.” He was only too happy to comply. His mouth was dry, and he had the sensation of sucking a cactus in the desert. Even holding his eyes open was painful, but he couldn’t tear himself away from staring at the handsome stranger standing over him. Tall, and lean, with dark hair, and the slightest of dimples—even through his impeccable suit, Danny could tell the man was no stranger to a good workout. If it was even possible, his throat went dryer than before. He swallowed thickly, and gazed into the stranger’s eyes, his own full of questions. The man touched a finger to his lips, once again motioning Danny not to speak. “I’m Phillip Scott, Danny. I’m the administrator here at Corbin’s Bend Medical Center. You’ve given all your friends here quite a scare, but you’re going to be okay.”  Danny gasped as Phillip’s words sank in, and the morning events flashed to the forefront of his mind in slow-motion. Waking up in his car. Seeing Simon at the diner. The phone call from Davis. The unconscious man and the Honda Civic. The Corbin’s Bend sign. The man was looking at him expectantly still, and he managed a slight nod of understanding. The stranger, Phillip, smiled and gave a soft chuckle. “I can see by your reaction you know Corbin’s Bend. That’s a good sign.” “Hwsthsin?” Danny tried to speak, but it came out as a scratchy and hoarse jumble of gibberish. He needed water. Before he could look around the room, or try to make up some signal to convey his needs, the stranger was on it. Danny followed Phillip’s path with his eyes, and was relieved when he saw him heading towards the sink with a small brown pitcher. Phillip’s movements were assured and efficient. He opened and closed cabinets and drawers until he found what he was looking for. In no time at all he was standing near Danny’s

head with a small cup of cold water and a straw. Large, strong hands gripped the tiny straw, bending it towards his lips, so that Danny didn’t have to move his head from the pillow. “Small sips, now,” Phillip warned. The water was ice cold as it glided down his throat, making him feel slightly more human as the dryness melted away under the quenching of his thirst. As he drank, he took the opportunity to further drink in the sight of the man before him, from a much closer angle now. The close-up view was even better than the original.
